I am Laura Apsit Livens and I work here above The Editeur in their studio creating my hat collections. The Editeur have been a huge support in helping me start my own company up, allowing me to use space in there studio, and its been great having their support everyday!
I studied at university a BA(Hons) Cordwainers Accessories product design and development degree at the London College of Fashion and a foundation degree at Central Saint Martins, I have attended specialist millinery courses such as Kensington and Chelsea College to expand my knowledge and enhance my millinery skills. I have interned at Philip Treacy for two years, where I gained priceless experience and collected many unbelievable stories that sometimes I can’t believe them myself! I worked in Philip’s studio some very prestigious times (which mean hard work and long hours) such as the Kate and Williams Wedding, Ascot, and many Fashion Weeks. Philip was a genius, he always made my heart jump, even after all that time way more than the numerous celebrities that were in the studio on a daily basis! He is my inspiration to be as devoted to design as he is.I have also worked freelance for Jane Taylor who is a young milliner like myself, and recently I saw that the Duchess of Cambridge wore one of the hats I help make when I was there which is a huge success!
I am now working from my studio, working mainly bespoke, for clients such as brides, mothers of the bride, racegoers, entertainers and for anyone that fancies a key piece to their outfit. I am pretty much always in the studio as I am lucky enough to love my job, so please contact me for a consultation. Please take a look online for the Ready-to-wear collection available online at The Editeur.
